This site was born from my experience of working in management consulting for nearly a decade and from being a people manager at a Fortune 50 company thereafter. What I found is that there isn't a class in college or a new-hire training that truly teaches you the skills to be successful in the corporate world; rather, everyone is expected to simply figure out how to write an email, or how to present to an executive, or how to be an effective manager. The result is a guess-and-check approach, and it ends with a lot of people not understanding the basics.
After seeing so many clients, coworkers, direct reports and executives struggle to implement an effective process for professional development, I decided to start writing down the frameworks that I learned and used to be successful. These aren't technical skills – rather, what I can offer is a holistic look into the soft skills that can make anyone, in any industry, better at their job. I failed a lot to learn how to do these things effectively, so my hope for you is that you can take these frameworks and implement them in your own process.
I hope you find my posts interesting and are willing to come back to see what new content is available. However, a better option is to subscribe to my newsletter so you will always know when a new post is ready.
